Give your books a second life while supporting the Library

Give your books a second life and support EPL at the same time!

Donated books and library materials are sold through our Books2Buy Sales, with proceeds going directly toward EPL programs and services.

It's a simple and sustainable way to declutter, support your community, and keep great reads circulating in Edmonton.

We accept:

  • Gently used books (paperbacks and hardcovers) 

  • Comic books and graphic novels 

  • CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks in their original packaging 

  • Recent Playstation, Xbox, and Wii games in their original packaging 

  • Textbooks and study guides published within the last four years 

  • Vinyl records (must be in their original sleeves and in good condition—no major rips or stains; records must have minimal scratches and no water damage) 

We cannot accept:

  • Books in poor condition (e.g., yellowed, worn, dusty, torn, or smelly) 

  • CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, or video games without their original packaging 

  • Vinyl records that are scratched, damaged, or have water damage 

  • Encyclopedias, magazines, specialized journals, or outdated textbooks 

  • Cassettes, VHS tapes, or burned/sample CDs/DVDs 

  • eBooks or computer software 

Where to Donate

You can drop off your materials at most EPL branches, excluding eplGO locations (McConachie and West Henday Promenade). If you have a large donation, please call ahead to ensure that the branch you want to visit has space. 

Please note that we do not provide home pick-up services, and we are unable to issue charitable tax receipts for donated materials.
